Community Involvement

Involving those with lived experience

Autism Future believes that autistic individuals, families, and local communities should be involved in the design of services that affect them. This is not only an ethical principle — it produces better services.

In our consulting work, we incorporate structured stakeholder consultation — including autistic individuals and family representatives — as a standard component of strategy, service design, and quality improvement engagements. The form this takes is adapted to the context and the client's existing engagement mechanisms.

Stakeholder consultation

Structured consultation with autistic individuals and family representatives is built into strategy and service design engagements.

Community needs analysis

Feasibility and planning work includes analysis of community needs and priorities, not only epidemiological data.

Family engagement design

We help clients design formal family engagement frameworks that give families a structured role in service governance and improvement.

Cultural adaptation

Service models and clinical frameworks are reviewed for cultural appropriateness with input from local community representatives.
